Buzz has been an active investor and advisor in the healthcare industry for over 40 years. Buzz is a founding member of 10K Lakes Capital (2020) and SightLine Partners (2004). He led the effort to establish SightLine Partners as an independent firm in 2004 by acquiring the healthcare venture capital operations from Piper Jaffray Companies. In 2008, Buzz initiated SightLine Partners’ strategy to focus on secondary transactions across multiple healthcare segments. Since 2009, the team has successfully raised eight dedicated secondary funds.

Prior to SightLine Partners, Buzz established Piper Jaffray’s dedicated venture investing in 1992, serving as President and Managing Director of Piper Jaffray Ventures from 1992-2004. In 1986, he founded and co-headed Piper Jaffray’s healthcare-focused Investment Banking activities for six years. In addition to over 40 years of venture capital and private equity experience, Buzz has been actively involved in a broad range of transactions for healthcare companies, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate partner agreements, public offerings, and private placements of equity and debt.

Rob has been active in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, with a focus on investing in and acquiring innovative medical technologies. He joined 10K Lakes Capital in 2025 and is a member of the investment team, where he focuses on sourcing, structuring, and managing investments.

Prior to 10K Lakes Capital, Rob was Vice President of Business Development at Shockwave Medical until their successful acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Prior to Shockwave, Rob spent 15 years at Boston Scientific, where he was VP of Business Development, leading over $7bn in business development transactions for Boston Scientific’s Cardiovascular franchises.  Rob was also a Partner at Endeavour Vision, a growth-stage Venture Capital firm, leading investments and supporting entrepreneurs as a board member and board observer.

Josh has spent over 30 years in the finance and healthcare industries, working across a broad range of responsibilities and companies, ranging from early-stage product development and innovation companies to public offerings, mergers, and acquisitions for mature companies.

Prior to 10K Lakes Capital and SightLine Partners, Josh was a Managing Director at Split Rock Partners. He has been a lead investor and board member in companies with an aggregate, realized value of over $2 billion.

Emily started her career in public accounting with an emphasis on audit. Subsequently, she had various roles at publicly traded entities where she was responsible for Financial Reporting, SEC Compliance, and Technical Accounting, as well as Internal Controls. Prior to joining 10K Lakes Capital, she worked in a variety of industries, including HealthCare, Software (SAAS), Professional Services, and Renewable Energy. 

Emily joined 10K Lakes Capital in 2024. She is a licensed CPA in Minnesota with 20 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, and supporting areas such as Operations, Compliance, and Human Resources

Nick joined 10K Lakes Capital in 2020 as a member of the investment team. Nick has assisted in the diligence process, fundraising efforts, and post-close portfolio management for four 10K Lakes Capital funds. Prior to joining 10K Lakes Capital, Nick had experience in portfolio management and equity research. 

Nick graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Markets Finance from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Nick also participated in The Bulldog Fund LLC, an advanced S&P 500 strategy portfolio specializing in equity research and public equity portfolio management.
